In 2013, the UNESCO declared Terres de l’Ebre Biosphere Reserve for its rich interior and coastal landscape, the representativeness of its Mediterranean ecosystems and its biodiversity conservation model.
The Terres de l’Ebre meet in just 30 km a great landscape biodiversity that includes the Natural Park of Els Ports and the Natural Park of the Ebro Delta, of which is part l’Ampolla. At the moment, the World Network of Biosphere Reserves of UNESCO recognizes a total of 669 biosphere reserves spread across 120 countries.
